Current Solar Conditions

Solar Flux - 68
A Index - 3
K Index - 2 / 18nT
X-ray - LT A1.0

Tell me if what I have read so far is correct:

A higher SFI is better?
A Lower A index is better?
A lower K index is better?

As for the nT =18, this number has been changing throughout the day. What does this mean?

You are correct, sir!

A HIGH as possible SFI is the best--in years of peak sunspots it CAN be as high as 200 or even over 250+ Those are HUGE and fun SFI ##'s.

Low A & K are good because they represent bad solar winds and Earth geomagnetic storms. High A & K are bad.

Heaven: FSI = 275, A=2, K=2.....good times.

Sadly, our current sunspot numbers and flux......SUCK.

New sunspot group: Active Region 1025 (2 spots in 1 group = sunspot count of 12).

Speaking of sunspots - by 2015, there might no longer be any visible sunspots! Check out the interview with a researcher, Dr. Matthew Penn, who discusses this research: Episode 4 of the NW7US Space Weather and Radio Propagation Podcast.
