Hi Bruce,
Thank you for visiting the website, it is in a constant state of change. The story of how all of this massive project got started is quite lengthy and I should post something on the website soon for those that might be interested. I will try and sum it up here for you quickly though. I live, sleep and drink radio and this has gone on since I was 10 years old and I come from radio people on both sides of my family, but not ham radio. My father and my uncle on my mothers side were commercial ops. My dad never did much with his ticket but my uncle did, he became a commercial op at WAX in Hialeah Fla. and I think he became one of the managers. WAX belonged to the United Fruit Co. I saw that station before it shut down. My Dad taught me the code when I was 10 and I have used it ever since. I recently got involved with restoring a WW II destroyers radio gear, then one thing led to another and now have a coastal station license to work any ship out there that still has CW gear on MF including museum ships. We plan to expand to HF if money and land permits. We need land desparately to make a fully operational station at full legal power of up to 40 KW. Have you visited www.radiomarine.org ? That is a perfect description of what our group is trying to accomplish. Getting a license was not difficult at all, I'll go into detail later if you want to know.

Hi Bruce, havn''t been here for a while to comment on your last post from October!!!! Station construction is progressing slowly. My problem is this, not enough people involved that know what to do and when given an idea to run with it. Trying to get tax exempt status for the group but thats a long haul. Once we get tax exemption we will ask for donations and apply for grants. Have picked up a GATES TX for conversion to CW and just got word yesterday that some real big stuff might become available in the near future to fully utilize the licensed power. Before we can turn on the rigs we will need to get certification from the FCC , that should be interesting !!!!! If anyone wants to know more about this entire project they should feel free to contact me. The MF CW station is only the beginning, will file for HF operation in the near future and who knows where that will take us. The question I have is, where have all the high powered MF and HF transmitters disappeared to? When I started this project it wasn't an issue, now it is. Glad you like the website, keep adding to it from time to time.
