ARLB061 New West Texas Section Manager named

ARRL Field and Educational Services Manager Rosalie White, K1STO,
has announced the appointment of John Dyer, AE5B, of Cisco, Texas,
as ARRL West Texas Section Manager. The appointment was effective
October 8.

Dyer will complete the remaining term of outgoing SM Lee Kitchens,
N5YBW, which ends June 30, 2003. Kitchens, who had served as West
Texas SM since July 2001, stepped down citing business and family
responsibilities.

Dyer, an ARRL Life Member, has been licensed since 1961. He has
served as Callahan County ARRL Emergency Coordinator and District 3
Emergency Coordinator since 1999. He currently serves as president
of the Key City Amateur Radio Club (an ARRL-affiliated club). His
family members also are radio amateurs. His wife Carla is K5RLA; his
son John is KB5CUL, and his daughter Kathy is KB5CUN. Members may
