Medical Issues (updated: June 19, 2007)

Some of you know the basic facts regarding my wife, Leigh, and her health issues. She recently was diagnosed with a number of rather large, and growing, tumors. Further, there are red flags regarding a possible cancer. THE SURGERY, on June 13, 2007, went very well. Leigh is now recovering, and that is going well. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

We hope that this will then trigger her immune system back into normal mode. Right now, she is diagnosed with CTD (connective tissues disease), with a slight 'cancer' risk. To treat CTD, she will have to undergo medication that is terrible on her body. We are praying that the CTD will subside once the tumors are gone.

Server Crash News: June 19, 2007

Good news: the original bills are paid - the $1200 total has been paid in full. However, because the server is still limping along, with reboots several times a day to keep it running, we still need to replace the CPU and the server case. The main issue continues to be heat-related.

To fix this problem, we have to purchase a new CPU. The new CPU will be a model that runs much cooler than the current CPU. Additionally, we must purchase a larger 1U server case. A 1U case is a case that is only one unit high. A unit refers to the slot of space designated in a rack mount configuration in a server farm. The case that we need will allow better spacing between the components of the server that generate heat. These heat-generating components are the hard drives, and the CPU.

Those of you who have followed the recent story about the HFRadio.org Server know that the heat problem caused the server to be down for a number of months as I had to rebuild the server just to get it back up. At the time, I did not have a way to upgrade the CPU and the case.

What we need is to raise new funds to cover two cost-areas: 1) We need to pay the monthly service and bandwidth fees, 2) We need to raise about $500 to cover the past hardware costs, as well as the new costs of the CPU and server case. That's a lot of money for me to pay out of my own pocket, so I hope enough of you will help out.

If you have not yet helped out, but are able, please send a donation, today. Your donation will keep HFRadio.org and this service alive.

I do want to say that there have been a number of very helpful friends of HFRadio.org who have donated toward the original cost of this project. THANK YOU!
