For Field Day, 2001, the NW7US family joined with BARSC.
As you might know, the Brinnon Amateur Radio School Club was started by the direction of Ron (W7ERY) and Tomas (NW7US). After a little over a year of activity with the students of BARSC, we decided to introduce the club to a Field Day experience. It was a great learning experience for everyone. Working out details of how, what, when, where, and why challenged the whole group to really become a team. We decided to not use a mountain-top location, but to locate operations in a very public place. The Dosewallips (pronounced, Doe-See-Wah-Lips) river which flows out of the Olympic Mountains of the Olympic Mountains of Western Washington state empty into the Puget Sound's Hood Canal. At the mouth of the river is a state park, the Dosewallips State Park. That's where we participated as KD7JOB - BARSC. We did not score very well, but learned a LOT. When operating, I worked exclusively CW. Below are the pictures.
