RWANDA, 9X. Bjorn, LA9IAA is now QRV as 9X0AA. He has been active
on 20 meters using CW around 2000 to 2230z. QSL to home call.
CHILE, CE. Scott, K0MD will be QRV as CE0/K0MD from Vina del Mar
from August 1 to 7. Activity will be on 20 to 10 meters in his
spare time. QSL to home call.
ENGLAND, G. Special event station GB70VJ will be QRV from August 1
to 31 to commemorate the 70th anniversary the end of World War II in
the Pacific. QSL via G0TOC.
GALAPAGOS ISLANDS, HC8. Geoff, G8OFQ is QRV as HC8/G8OFQ from
Isabela Island, IOTA SA-004, until September 30 while working as a
volunteer for the Galapagos National Park at the Giant Tortoise
Breeding Center. Activity will be on 160 to 6 meters using only SSB
in his spare time. QSL to home call.
HAWAII, KH6. Tim, N3QE is QRV as N3QE/KH6 from Kauai, IOTA OC-019,
until August 5. Activity is holiday style on the HF bands. This
includes being an entry in the North American CW QSO Party. QSL via
operator's instructions.
BULGARIA, LZ. Special event station LZ100AJ is QRV until August 15
to honor the memory of Assen Jordanoff, who constructed the first
Bulgarian airplane 100 years ago. QSL via LZ1KSP.
AUSTRIA, OE. Scout club station OE5J will be QRV from Bad Ischl
from August 1 to 8 during the context of the World Jamboree in Japan
and the summer camp of the Club Telescout. QSL via bureau.
NETHERLANDS, PA. Special event station PC15SAIL will be QRV from
August 2 to 29 during the SAIL Amsterdam event. QSL via PA0RDY.
BRAZIL, PY. A group of operators will be QRV as PW2G from Gatos
Island, IOTA SA-071, on August 1 and 2. They will be active on the
HF bands using two stations. QSL via PY2LCD.
FRANZ JOSEF LAND, R1/F. Eugene, UA4RX will be QRV as RI1FJ while
posted on Heiss Island for one year beginning in August. Activity
will be in his spare time on 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and
various digital modes. QSL direct to UA2FM.
POLAND, SP. Special event station HF690PMA is QRV until August 5 to
celebrate the 690th anniversary of the Catholic parish Saint Matthew
in Andrychow. QSL via SP9KUP.
EUROPEAN RUSSIA, UA. Mikhail, RA1ALA, will be QRV as RA1ALA/1 from
Varnek on Vaygach Island, IOTA EU-086, from August 2 to 14.
Activity will be on 40 meters and above using CW and SSB as time
permits. QSL to home call.
ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, V2. Tim, VE6SH is QRV as V29SH from Antigua,
IOTA NA-100, until August 8. Activity is on the HF bands with an
emphasis on 17 and 12 meters. QSL to home call.
BERMUDA, VP9. Eric, K9GY will be QRV as VP9GE from August 5 to 11.
This includes being an entry in the upcoming Worked All Europe CW
contest. Activity will be mainly on the newer bands and 6 meters,
and possibly using RTTY. QSL direct to home call.
CAMBODIA, XU. Rene, F6CTW is QRV as XU7AEX from Phnom Penh until
August 10. Activity is on the HF bands using CW and SSB. QSL
direct to home call.
VANUATU, YJ. Rod, YJ8RN plans to be QRV from either Loh or Hiu
Islands, both IOTA OC-110, beginning around August 3 to August 17
while on work assignment. Activity will be on 20 meters using SSB
around 0600 to 0800z during the week. QSL direct to home call.
SOUTH SUDAN, Z8. Massimo, Z81B has been QRV on 17 meters using SSB
around 1600 to 1700z. QSL via IZ0EGA.
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The ARRL August UHF Contest,
Intercontinental Lighthouse-Lightship Weekend Contest, QRP CW Fox
Hunt, NCCC RTTY Sprint, NCCC Sprint CW Ladder, TARA Grid Dip
Shindig, 10-10 International Summer SSB Contest, European HF
Championship, North American CW QSO Party, RSGB RoPoCo 80-Meter CW
and the SARL HF Phone Contest will certainly keep contesters busy
this upcoming weekend.
The Intercontinental Lighthouse-Lightship Week runs from August 1 to
8. The ARS Spartan CW Sprint is scheduled for August 4. The Phone
Fray and CWops Mini-CWT CW Test are scheduled for August 5. Pease
