DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME (DST). Did you remember to change your clocks?
Countries in the Northern Hemisphere (most of N. American and some of
the Caribbean) who observe Daylight Saving Time should have changed their
clocks on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 AM, and should have moved their 'local
clocks' forward 1 hour to 3:00:00 AM local time. Daylight Saving Time
will end on Sunday, November 6th at 2:00 AM. European countries will
switch to DST on March 27th. For the history and details about DST,
as well as an interesting map of the world (showing the countries who
observe DST), see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_timewww.timeanddate.com/time/dst/2016.html
ADDED NOTES: Hopefully, all amateur radio operators know not to change
their GMT/UTC/ZULU clocks. However, since most operators usually set their
computers to local time, some may have to change their settings on 'some'
ham radio software (ex. logging, propagation, DXTelnet, etc..) programs.
FH, MAYOTTE (Reminder). Operators Pat/F2DX and Jacques/F6BEE will be active
as FH/F2DX and FH/F6BEE, respectively from Mayotte Island (AF-027) [before

FT4JA JUAN DE NOVA DXPEDITION NEWS (March 7th Press Release). In just 10
days, the first 2 operators (F2DX & F6BEE) will head to Mayotte island.
They plan to be active between March 18th to 24th from 40 to 6m, signing
FH/F2DX and FH/F6BEE. Reports are welcome to give us an idea of the pro-
pagation, which will be similar on Juan de Nova.
The 8 other operators will join them later. We are filling the suitcases
with all the sensitive equipment that has not been shipped on the crates.
Each piece is carefully checked.
On the other hand, we are working on the last details. We just released
a webpage dedicated to 6m operation which gives all details for TEP and
EME contacts tentatives (Earth-Moon-Earth).
Our pilots received a bunch of reports regarding 12 & 17m RTTY fre-
quencies. Because it was not our first aim to activate these slots, we
have decide not to work RTTY on these bands and keep the focus on 30/20/15m
to maximize the number of unique callsigns worked. The band plan has been
updated.
On the main page of the website, we just uploaded a short video called
=AB we are ready =BB <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DZ6OlsgpKrgg> with a
message to the international amateur radio community.
We are preparing a communication about the QSL and logs. These infor-
mations will be published on the website before our departure.
Get ready ! FT4JA =96 Juan de Nova 2016 Expedition

REALTIME BAND CONDITIONS WEB SITE <www.bandconditions.com>:
The purpose of this experimental Web site is to provide 24-7-365 actual
(REALTIME) band condition information to CW QRPp, QRPe and CW/SSB for
Contesters interested in increasing their scores. It can also be of
benefit to other Radio Amateurs to determine band conditions for Nets
and casual QSO's. This information is NOT based on any software pre-
dictions or any kind of satellite based readings. It is based on a
new Ionospheric sounding method called 'HF Ionospheric Interferometry'
which operates very similarly to the PolSAR system used by NASA.
