** PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Two weeks ago the OPDX mailing list received an usual
amount of E-mail bounces (in the hundreds). The majority of the bounces
were from the following ISPs: COMCAST, COX and GMAIL. We are not totally
sure why this happened, but if your ISP blocks the OPDX Bulletin, please
send a complaint to your ISP. If you did not receive the bulletin,
there are other ways to receive bulletin. The bulletin is posted every
week at the following URLs: =

3Y0I BOUVET DXPEDITION NEWS. The following was posted December 1st:
'3Y0I to invite additional operators -- Some fresh news from Cape Town,
South Africa. The 3Y0I Team is about to deal with another extensive
training next week + gathering some additional equipment we'll need at
Bouvet Island. Also, new possibilities emerge: we can take 2 additional
operators (CW + SSB) with us. If you're flexible operating - and weather-
experienced individual, and willing to join 1-month long adventure of
your life time, drop a msg asap at: [email protected]. Be quick!'
Also, there has been several QSNs reported on the DXclusters by E51DOM/MM
(mostly on FT8). This is reportedly Dom, 3Z9DX, 'probably' operating from
the ship that they will use to take them to Bouvet. Dom has stated that he
will use this callsign during his sailing trips to several different
locations in the World and 'probably' on his way to Bouvet.
Departure dates are still not known. It is still a mystery...
Remember, they plan to stay on the island for at least 2 weeks, if the
weather cooperates. The 3Y0I DXpedition's band plan =AD frequencies (160-6m)
and modes (CW/SSB/FT8) can be found at:

as TX0M from Morane Atoll in the Morane Group (OC-297P) between
December 4-18th. =
The only amateur radio activity from the Acteon Group took
place more than 28 years ago by Robert Berry (FO5BI/P). He
operated in April 1990 from the Marutea Sud Atoll. This IOTA
reference is currently ranked #6 on the Most Wanted IOTA
Listing, needed by 98% of the IOTA members. Since at the time
of this operation there will be 1126 IOTA references activated
to date, compared to 340 current DXCC entities, the rarity of
this IOTA group corresponds to #2 on the DXCC Listing. The Morane
Atoll is the only counter of the New IOTA Group OC-297. It fits
the 'Remote Island Group' criterion (IOTA Programme Structure
B.1.3). Both Atolls are uninhabited. The plan is to operate
from each Atoll for 5 full days. Activity will be on CW, SSB
and 40-10 meters concentrating on the bands that will exhibit
the best propagation conditions within specific time windows
for each region. They will maintain one station on 20 m as
long as the propagation will permit in order to maximize the
number of unique stations logged. This is a complex and extremely
expensive project, and they need your support to defray some
of the considerable costs incurred! All donors will be timely
acknowledged on their Web site at: https://tx0a-tx0m.weebly.com
QSL via VE3LYC, direct, by the Bureau or ClubLog's OQRS.
PLEASE NOTE: Since the Webmasters of the new <www.iota-world.org> have
decided NOT to post or dedicate a Web page to announce upcoming IOTA
operations, PLEASE send your IOTA operations information to the OPDX,
and we will post it here in an upcoming bulletin......
